Bonjour! Ahoj!

Hello everyone!
My name is Victoire, and I’m currently studying business management at the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce in Paris. I’ve had the privilege of living a very international life, from Brussels to London to Singapore to Toronto. And I’m very fortunate to be able to continue my travels, spending my three undergraduate years in Paris, Torino and Berlin.
My multicultural journey has been an enriching and transformative experience. From my dual heritage (I’m half Belgian, half Czech,) to the cities I’ve called home, each chapter has contributed to my personal growth, cultural understanding and passion for global business. This exposure has helped me cultivate an adventurous spirit, with one of my personal mottos being: finding comfort in the uncomfortable.
I’ve been here for over two weeks and I’m happy to say that Iracambi has stolen my heart. The two sides of me are able not just to coexist in harmony, but to flourish. Business Vic will tell you that working here is thrilling, since I can apply the concepts I have learned in the classroom to the real world. Nature-loving Vic will tell you that it’s euphoric to spend your days in nature and live among others in simplicity.
What I’m loving about my time here is the flexibility to get involved in passion projects. On Mondays I go go the local school to teach English. I’m also involved in market research for selling natural soaps, and creating a catalog of natural products sourced from the community. And I’m learning lots of new things, like how the carbon market works and how Iracambi could participate further down the line.
I’d like to thank the staff, volunteers and members of the Iracambi family for your incredible support. I’m eternally grateful to have met such beautiful souls.
Being eighteen years old, I still have much to learn! But it’s up to us, the new generation, to address the challenges of the 21st century and create a better world, through education, sustainability and communication. In a world overwhelmed by negative media, coming here has sparked in me a flame of optimism.
Combining business Vic with nature-loving Vic, I look forward to the future and my personal impact in helping the world. Together, if we harness our collective power and unwavering determination, we can create a ripple effect of transformative actions that will shape history and leave a lasting effect for generations to come.
So – thank you, present, and hello, future!
Victoire Serruys
